We work with young people inside schools, colleges and universities, supporting and extending the creative curriculum in a variety of ways and giving young people the experience of working alongside professional artists.

Students consistently report increased confidence, inclusion and creative growth, while teachers highlight the inspirational impact of working alongside professional artists. Schools we’ve partnered with have seen significant improvement in both the quality of student work and overall attainment.

Working with Tangled Feet on this show was a great experience and allowed me to reflect on myself, my creativity and my surroundings.

We tour our shows into schools, giving many children access to high-quality theatre right where they are.

At Tangled Feet, we offer dynamic, curriculum-aligned workshops and residencies for secondary schools across Key Stages 3–5. We support GCSE, A Level and BTEC Drama/Performing Arts and also offer Staff CPD. We work closely to create bespoke programmes through devising, improvisation, play and collaborative creation to explore human connection.

We guide students to think creatively and critically working as an ensemble and developing original scenes, text, images and moments. Our residencies immerse young people in an authentic rehearsal environment—supported by professional actors, directors, designers and technical specialists—where student voice, equity, and creative ownership are central. Students create work they have total authorship over, amplifying their voice through working collaboratively with the professional team.

Tangled Feet have created invaluable experiences for our students being able to create work and perform with professional actors but also directors, stage managers and designers.  This has contributed significantly to their wider understanding of the professional world of the performing arts industry as well as being incredibly inspirational.  Tangled Feet’s holistic and well-being centred approach to making theatre has been instrumental in improving the confidence and skills within the students.  They have been instrumental in raising the quality of the work students are capable of producing.  This year we have a grade profile of 75% higher grades for the course and the success on the project that starts with Tangled Feet has played a significant factor in being able to achieve this.
