Our Mindfulness Project offers creative and therapeutic activities including storytelling, drama, mindfulness and yoga. It is offered in schools, colleges, events and workplace settings to support mental health and wellbeing.

In Schools

For Mindfulness in schools we offer a collaborative, physical, and playful approach to build confidence, communication, and connection, supporting young people experiencing anxiety and low self-esteem. The students learn practical techniques to manage stress, develop active hope, and are empowered to find their voice within a supportive group

The project allows students to explore big feelings, wobbles and worries in expressing what matters, building empathy, and developing a deeper understanding of their own thoughts and feelings. It recognises that all minds, young and old, can feel stuck sometimes and through openness, reflection, and creative response, we can begin to make sense of those moments.

Over ten weeks, Tangled Feet will deliver a Mindfulness and Wellbeing programme for up to 20 students in your school, tailored for pupils at key transition points (such as Year 1 or Year 12)

The project from Tangled Feet, we feel, has had a huge impact on the students involved with many saying that they felt ‘energised’ ‘motivated’ and ‘more positive’ after each session. We would wish for such a project to be rolled out among more students and staff as well in the future

At Work

Tangled Feet has been championing mental health and emotional wellbeing for two decades. Inspired by our processes of devising award-winning, industry-leading theatre productions and informed by evidence-driven Therapeutic work, a Tangled Feet Mindfulness at Work event can help to:

  • Strengthen connection through active listening and ensemble collaboration,
  • Encourage open expression of thoughts, ideas, and creative responses,
  • Share tools for making sense of pressure, letting go, and staying resilient under stress.

“Very useful in supporting the mental health of our colleagues, everyone felt at ease and got involved and we have since received great feedback” Michelle D, Business Manager, Barclays

The sessions can be tailored to your workplace needs at a location of your choice, so please enquire to discuss your requirements.

At events and festivals

Our one-off workshops bring the same high-quality, playful approach to festivals, events, and community settings. These energetic and accessible sessions introduce children to simple but powerful techniques—like yoga poses, breathing exercises, and mindful games—that help them manage stress, build confidence, and express what matters.

Rooted in ensemble collaboration and creative response, the workshops encourage curiosity, connection, and communication in a safe, welcoming space. It’s a chance for children to move, reflect, and have fun—while developing tools they can carry with them long after the session ends.

At Home

During the 2020 lockdown, as parents ourselves, we saw the challenge of children being home all day and wanted to offer a simple, playful way to promote wellbeing and connection. Emily and Rachel recorded 10 free sessions from home, sharing mindful practices to help families feel calm and supported during anxious times.

These sessions have built a creative, connected community online, with thousands of views and families sharing their experiences. We’ll be updating the series in 2026, but you can still access the original lockdown videos here.

Tangled Feet has been a valued partner of Someries Infant School and Early Childhood Education for the past five years, delivering their exceptional Mindfulness Programme to our pupils. The impact of this programme has been significant and sustained, providing invaluable support to the social, emotional, and mental health of the children they work with.

Impact

Tangled Feet’s Mindfulness Project is a powerful and reflective experience that helps participants build emotional awareness, resilience, and connection. At schools like Tennyson Road and Wigmore Primary, over 90% of pupils reported feeling calmer, more independent, and better able to manage worry using simple, accessible techniques like breathing exercises, yoga poses, and mindfulness techniques.

Through playful, collaborative sessions, children learn to express what matters, support each other, and reflect on their emotions. Teachers have seen participants become wellbeing ambassadors, sharing practices with peers while parents notice meaningful changes at home, including the use of worry jars and other creative responses and breathing exercises.

This high-quality, ensemble-led process is both empowering and empathetic, creating space for openness, trust, and active hope in every setting.
